On June 5, a SMILE local event, connected to the World Environment Day, took place in Pietra Ligure. Whole morning was dedicated to the environment, to raise awareness among young people and to discuss the possible strategies about contrasting littering in marine areas. Liguria Ricerche in collaboration with Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna di Pisa, published the Marine Litter Best Practice Overview. The document is available at KNOWLEDGE web site's page.

  On Sept. 2014 Liguria Ricerche completed the Stakeholders' Perception and Ecosystem services analysis within the Pilot Area. The final report download is available on KNOWLEDGE section of  SMILE website.

The third SMILE CAMPUS took place from August 22nd to 31st  2014. It was dedicated to young adult from 18 to 30 years old.   On  08^th of July the TRASHPIC APP AND SMILE CAMPUS launch press conference was held in Badino (Tovo S. Giacomo) at Clock Museum. The press review is available on our PRESS page.  

The first SMILE CAMPUS took place from July 7th to 16th  2014. It was dedicated to young ones from 14 to 19 years old. Local events series has started. They'll take place in Maremola valley Municipalities:  Pietra Ligure, Tovo S.Giacomo, Giustenice e Magliolo, by Coop. ERICA in collaboration with Pietra Ligure Municipality. For further informations, please check EVENTI page.

The SMILE PHONE NUMBER is activated: +39 3246026182. It will give informations about the project and report calls about abandoned waste found in Maremola river basin.

On June 20th, 2014 Smile was brought as example for the reduction of environmental impact during the LIFE+ projects event at the "SMART WEEK" in Genoa.

The waste monitoring campaign started in March 2014, both on beach and shallow waters. Target areas are: the Maremola river mouth in Pietra Ligure and the Cerusa river mouth in Genova Voltri (GE). For information on the monitoring protocol used by ARPAL and OLPA have a look at the KNOWLEDGE page.

  The first training session for fishermen took place January 30^th and was focused on the litter catching traps’ positioning. On our facebook page you can find some pictures.

  The executive project for the deployment of the litter catching traps in front of the Maremola river mouth has been presented. The document is available on the page dedicated to the PILOT ACTION.

  The survey on marine litter perception has been launched in December 2013. Specific questionnaires have directed to the different targets: citizens and tourists, youngsters and enterprises (including shops, restaurants, hotels, private beach clubs and other enterprises)
